At Barn Vault, we want you to be absolutely confident in your investment in a high-capacity storage structure. We understand that selecting a barn kit is a significant decision. Our return policy is designed to be clear and professional. Please review it carefully before making a purchase.


1. Eligibility for Refunds


To be eligible for a refund, the unopened barn kit must be returned within 30 days of delivery. Due to the size and nature of packaged DIY structures, the following strict criteria must be met:

  • Condition: The kit must be returned unused, undamaged, and completely unopened in its original, factory-sealed state. Any opened, partially assembled, or damaged boxes/bundles will void eligibility.

  • Packaging: The kit must be secured and returned on the original pallet or equivalent protective shipping materials with all included accessories and documentation.

  • Proof: Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is strictly required.


2. Non-Refundable Items


Refunds will not be issued for any kit that shows evidence of tampering, misuse, or non-compliance with the return process:

  • Kits where packaging has been opened, seals have been broken, or wood bundles have been exposed to the elements.

  • Materials showing any sign of assembly attempt, alteration, or damage due to customer storage or handling.

  • Kits returned without the necessary original protective packaging or with missing components.

  • Clearance, final sale, or custom-ordered units (if marked as such at the time of purchase).


3. Process for Initiating a Return


To initiate a return for your barn kit, you must contact us first to receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.

  • Authorization: Email us at contact@barnvault.shop to describe your reason for return. Once approved, you will receive detailed return instructions and a unique RMA number required to process the return.

  • Return Shipment: Customers are responsible for properly securing and arranging the costly return freight (shipping) of the kit to our designated warehouse. Due to the size and weight, specialized freight service is required.

  • Inspection: Once received, our team will conduct a detailed inspection to ensure the kit meets the "unopened, as-new" criteria.

  • Notification: We will notify you about the approval or rejection of your refund within 5-7 business days after the inspection is complete.


4. Refund Timeline & Costs


  • Return Shipping: Customers are responsible for all return freight and shipping costs. Original shipping fees paid at checkout are non-refundable. Exception: If the product is proven to be defective or damaged upon arrival.

  • Restocking Fee: Due to the complexity of inspecting and re-certifying freight packages, a restocking fee may apply to cover logistical costs. This will be clearly communicated during the RMA process.

  • Refund Processing: Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days after the inspection. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used at checkout (PayPal).


5. Damaged or Defective Items


If your kit arrives damaged or is defective, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We require photographic and video evidence of the damage, including the condition of the original crating and shipping materials. We will work with you immediately to arrange a prompt replacement of the damaged components, or a full refund at no cost to you.
